Ok, so as some of you know, I have been working on my theme for a while now. I am now on v0.56. It is a combination of Hero/Blur/EnochX, and of course, I have been learning as I go along and have added some customizations of my own. Let me be VERY clear that I am no developer... Yet...LOL And I just didnt combine a bunch of graphics to make this. That would have been easy...lol ALL credit on this goes to a LONG list of people, who have come before me...People like nabzilla, drPfenderson, Stericson, plus all the devs who have written stuff on the forums on XDA, and others... It takes a LOT of reading, and a LOT of trial and error... Also thanks to the gotroot? crowd on the TMO forums... For those of you that already have this theme, the changes are reworked contacts and phone graphics, new default wallpaper, reworked and replaced some notification icons... This will work on Cyanogen 4.1.999+
Ok, so I havent posted in about a week. I have been VERY busy learning and learning and learning...lol I have now created my own theme. I have always liked themes for Cyanogen's ROMs but there have been things that I like on one theme, that are not on the other... Solution? Mix them! So now I have created my won theme for CM 4.1.9999. no name yet and its a work in progress. A handful of people have it to test and so far so good... I am running it now and so is my wife. It is a Hero/Blur/EnochX mix. With MUCH credit going to those people who created that work. I am certainly no programmer or developer... Yet... But I have done enough (read: not just replaced graphics) on my own to be able to call that theme my own... Manipulate graphics, modifying .9 png's, re-do the services.jar file for colorings, re-edit .xml files to my liking... etc etc etc... If you read this, and you are running Cyanogen's latest, let me know if you wish to try out this mess of a theme... :-)
So the last few days I have been very busy learning... I have learned how to take apart a ROM, modified it, repack it, sign it and apply it. I have been working on a theme for myself for Cyanogen 4.1.999 It is a combination of the Blur theme and Nabzilla's Community Hero mix. So far so good. My only issue is that I have not been able to edit XML files. Seems to be an issue on this work laptop...LOL Have tried every single XML reader to no avail. Something to do with Linux. So its time to get a laptop to run Linux on it and develop themes... Now if I could get that past the wife...LOL
Ok, so I have been totally slacking on updates... Bad me...LOL I will definitely try to get better at posting updates... And I will likely make some new posts on ROM reviews... Yes, there is definitely a lot of them out there, but my favorite saying is different ROMs for different phones. As all ROMs out there seem to act different on same phones, I figured I would just give you my take on what I flash. Currently on Maxisma 1.7.1 Hero. Anyway, off to Costa Rica tomorrow morning bright and early...
Been a while... Was in Guatemala and didn't do much while there. But now that I have been back, I have been flashing stuff...LOL Maxisma, who took over development of Drizzy Hero ROMs, has come out with his update. 1.6.1, after a brief 1.6, is out and I love it. This is what I was looking for in a Hero ROM all along. Fast, smooth, and almost everything works. So far the only issue I have seen is the LEDs that do not work. Not all of them, but some of them. That is ok. Drizzy and Cyanogen have stated that they have ROMs coming tonight, so it should be a fun night of flashing...And oh yeah, CTIA is this week, where we might finally get an announcement on Motorola's phone for that Red company...LOL
